Dr. Appt update

So this will be a quick post...nothing exciting...just more of a quick update. We had our 14 week dr. appt. yesterday. Everything looked good. Gained 2 pounds since the last appt back in March. I have no idea if that is on track or not. My doctor said that everyone gains at different rates. We heard the heart beat, what a neat feeling. The heart rate was 157. We go back on May 29th for our next appt. We will get another sonogram and also find out if it is a boy or girl. Can't wait for that!!! I am going to try to put up one of those voter buttons so you can vote if you think it is a boy or a girl. Right now I have no clue. My dad thinks girl....I think Chris thinks girl. I really have no idea, no gut feeling either way because it changes daily. Can't wait to find out!

Officially in the 2nd trimester!!!

Well I am officially in the 2nd trimester…YEAH! Now I am just waiting for the magical day to wake up and feel better. I thought I got that magical day on Sunday. I woke up feeling really good, didn’t need any Zofran and had a full day feeling good. On Monday it was a repeat of Sunday…I was starting to feel pretty confident that I was on the road to the “feeling good 2nd trimester”…it is funny how right when you let your guard down..BOOM! Woke up yesterday feeling sicker than ever. So I guess I am not out of the woods yet. Oh well…hopefully soon. And it is COMPLETELY worth it!!! Other than that, everything is going well and I am looking forward to my next doctors appointment which is on Monday. I can’t wait to hear this little nugget’s heartbeat for the 1st time.

On a different note, we had someone move into our backyard this weekend. I thought this was a neat picture so I thought I would share.

Easter

This past Sunday we celebrated Easter at our house. Easter is one of my favourite holidays and I feel that it is the most important holiday of them all. One of our fun family traditions is our big annual egg hunt. Since we don’t have any little ones in our family (YET), we have an adult version. Every person is in charge of bringing about 10 fun prizes. Some things are funny, some are nice, and some of the prizes are money. This year Amanda (my sister in law) and I tied for the most eggs. And don’t worry….we do this inside so we don’t embarrass ourselves. Here are some pictures from our day.

All the girls

My lovely God Parents

My family

We also Celebrated my grandmother's 90th Birthday and my 30th birthday. Today is my grandma's actual birthday. Happy 90th Birthday Grandma!!! Love you!

Eating birthday Cake...my Godmother makes the best Italian Cream Cake..ymmm.
I hope everyone had a happy Easter!!!!

Smoker Kids at Great Wolf Lodge

So for a while now every time the Great Wolf Lodge commercial comes on the radio I immediately turn down the volume. Is it just me or does that kid have the most annoying smoker voice ever? I admit, I have heard wonderful things about Great Wolf Lodge and I am sure it is tons of fun for kiddos of all ages, but for real….do you have to have a kid promoting it that sounds like he smokes at least 5 cartons a day? Sorry, the commercial just grosses me out and just makes me think of a little nugget with a big Kamel Red hanging out of his mouth…yuck.

OK, that is my vent today...Everyone have a good weekend and I hope the Easter bunny brings everyone lots of eggs!

Zofran is my new BFF!!!

So after a few weeks of spending a little too much quality time with the porcelain goddess, I broke down and called my doctor for a prescription of Zofran. Why had I been so stubborn?? I feel so much better and I can actually eat without running to the bathroom 5 minutes later. Not only am I holding down my grilled cheese and soup that had pretty much been my entire diet lately, but I can now have real food! I even ate pizza!!! I know Chris is very excited that our date nights don't have to be limited to Jason's Deli because all I want is their Grilled Cheese and Tomato Basil soup. And that he no longer has to be embarrased when we are out in public and I start dry heaving. But I have to give him props...he has been a major trooper even going to Jason's Deli on Kid's night to get me my grilled cheese and soup to bring me home my dinner. He really deserves credit, he has been totally pulling both his weight and mine around the house doing all the laundry, cleaning, yard work, etc...because lets face it...all I want to do after work is crash. Iam really looking forward to the 2nd trimester to feel a little bit like me again. I hope I do!!!

And Please Please pray that our kid turns out normal since they will have these 2 weirdos as their parents. Ha!

Morning Sickness and Seizure Sage

Well this week has been the worst week so far for morning sickness… more like all day sickness. Many of you may remember me at the very beginning saying how I wanted morning sickness so I could FEEL pregnant and that it would be reassuring. Well God has taken that to heart and he has left me with no doubt that I am pregnant. This week I think he decided to take it to a new level. I even missed 2 days this week of work because I couldn’t get away from the toilet long enough to get there. That hour commute would have done me in to say the least. I have definitely had my fill now and can’t wait for the hopes I have for feeling better in the 2nd trimester…only a few weeks to go!!! I am thankful that I was home on Tuesday though. My poor baby Sage had a seizure. She had never had one before and it was VERY traumatic!!! Fortunately my mom had just come over to bring me some soup. I was pretty hysterical…as many of you know…I LOVE my dogs!!!! They are my babies. Fortunately she is ok. After calling Chris and telling him to get home and explaining what was happening, he called the vet. She said that seizures are the most common in yellow Labs and if she doesn’t have another one within 24 hours it isn’t usually anything serious. She told us to give her some honey. That perked Sage right up and she has been fine ever since. But if you have ever experienced your dog having a seizure…you can understand how scary it can be.

Brief Catch Up

To get everyone up to speed, here is a little update on how things are going, recent doctor appointments, etc. I am currently in my 10th week of pregnancy. We have had 2 appointments so far. The first one was at 7 weeks where we saw something that resembled a cornflake and that was about it. But it was the cutest cornflake I have ever seen. :) The last appointment was this past Monday and it was much more exciting. We could actually see the little head, body and arms. I have a feeling we may have a very hyper child as it was VERY active. My doctor even laughed because she had the hardest time getting a good picture because it was moving so much. I think I may have my hands full! The heart rate was 167 and the baby was measuring right on schedule. Everything looked healthy. Every appointment I get so nervous...so it was a big sigh of relief. Next appointment is April 27th. This appointment we will get to hear the heartbeat. Can't wait. Then the next appt which will be the end of May we will find out boy or girl!!!! I can't wait to know so I can start planning. OK...enough stats. I know this isn't that exciting but I want to be able to remember every detail.
