One Crazy Summer!

I can't believe it is already September. I also can't believe how bad I have been on updating this blog. I was really hoping to do a better job of keeping up with all the latest developments on Easton. But lets just face it...I didn't plan on all the extra "stuff" in our lives. Chris and I didn't plan on moving this soon, but we both new that we would need a bigger house if we wanted anymore kiddos. So we always kept an eye on the market waiting for that deal to pop up that we couldn't refuse. Well that happened back in June. We found a house that was a great deal and we jumped on it. The catch was that we had to close in 2 weeks so the seller could get her new house. Fortunately we have a great mortgage guy that did the impossible for us and we made the deadline. We closed on our new house on June 15th. Although the house was a great deal, it also needed a lot of repairs. So this summer we have been soooo busy with repairing the new house so we could move in and trying to sell the old house. So basically, that is why I have been MIA. We are starting to see the end in sight though. We close on our old house on September 30th and will officially be living at our new house on October 2nd. I have to say though that Easton has been such a trouper through all this. I am so thankful that God blessed us with such a happy easy going little guy. He truly goes with the flow.

So now onto Easton...he is almost 11 months old now! I can't believe it! He is getting so big. He is pulling up and walking with support that I know any day now he is going to be fully mobile. We will definitely be baby proofing the new house right away. He is starting to get quite a sense of humor too. He loves going bababa BAAAAA!!!! and then starts cracking up. He loves people and does not meet a stranger. When we are out in public he yells at people to get their attention. And he usually does! He also loves baths and cries when they are over. He could splash all day. He is still a great eater and will eat pretty much whatever you give him. He sleeps great at night and naps here and there during the day but doesn't really stick to a schedule. but that works for me since this summer has not been very structured at all!

He has 6 teeth now...4 on top, 2 on bottom. He loves eating cheerios like a little chipmunk. We are starting MOPS this fall. Last week was our first week and he did great. I think he did better at this nursery than our church nursery. There seemed to be fewer kids and he probably got more one on one attention.

Well I better go...lots of packing to do but just wanted to give you all a quick update. I will post again once we get settled in our new house. Until then, I apologize to all my friends out there that I haven't been keeping up with everyone very well. I promise to make up for lost time soon!

Hope everyone had a great summer!

Nicole
I am posting some recent photos as well.

8 months ...I can't believe it!

The past 8 months have literally flown by! I can't believe my litte E is already 8 months old. He is getting so big. He is definitely not a little baby anymore. He is on the go and learning something new everyday. I have to say, even though I loved the little baby stage, I am having so much fun with him right now. He is crawling great now. He loves to be free and when you plop him on the ground you can see the excitement in his eyes as he looks around for things to explore.

He is also pulling up to a standing position and even reaches up and hangs from things. He has no fear which keeps me on my toes! I can't take my eyes off of him for a second. He is all boy and a little bump or face plant while crawling doesn't even phase him. He doesn't have time to be hurt. Ha! ALL BOY!

He is also loving trying all the new foods. He is becoming a good eater. He has had green beans, peas, asparagus, butternut squash, carrots, bananas, watermelon and cantelope. He loves his puffs too. He likes to pick them up and let them melt in his hands.

He has also gone to 2 gymboree classes with his friend Campbell. The funniest thing was having the teacher tell me she has never seen a kid like him...and ask me, "does he ever sit still?". Easton also loved the bubbles and parachute. Everytime we would lower the parachute, you could see Easton's head moving around underneath. All the other babies would stay laying down on their back watching it. Not Easton, he had to crawl around underneath. He makes me laugh!

So far he still lets anyone hold him. I am still waiting for the stanger anxiety phase to kick in. He loves all people and doesn't meet a stranger. We go see my grandmother at the nursing home and he gets so much attention from all the residents. He truly makes their day. It is so neat to see them all oooh and aahh over them.

I will post some updated photos soon.

We don't like Green Beans!

So now that Easton is 6 months we are starting on solids. We gave him green beans today for the first time. Lets just say he wasn't a big fan. It definitely gave us our laughs though. Here is his first taste of real food.

Warning!!! This video is not for those with weak stomachs.

Playdate with Campbell and other Pics

Here are a few pictures of Easton with his good friend Campbell. They were born one day apart. They are getting to the point where they really enjoy each other. They laugh at each other and reach and grab each others noses, ears, eyes, etc. They are so cute together!

Here is a picture from the first time they met. They were about 6 weeks old. Haven't they changed!

And here are just a few pictures of Easton. He is getting so big I can't believe he is already 6 months old! He is getting to such a fun stage.

Haley and Easton - Mr. Sensitivity

This video is from the beginning of March...I meant to post it much earlier but that was about the time our old computer crashed. Anyway, this video cracks me up. Easton can be in the best mood but if he hears another baby cry, he gets really upset. I think he is extra sensitive and doesn't like anyone to be upset.

Easton Vs. High Chair

Easton thinks it is so funny when I try to put the tray on the highchair. He likes to make it difficult. He is such a mess!

Easton's first Easter

I know this post is a little late. I have a lot of catching up to do on the blog.

Easton's first Easter started out on Saturday night. We decided to go to church for the Saturday night service so that we would all have time on Sunday to cook for our Easter meal over at my parent's house. The Easter service was the first time I took Easton to the nursery. He did great. So far he hasn't had any problem going to strangers. I know it is still early for separation anxiety to hit, but at this point he loves everyone. When we picked him up he was playing in an excersaucer looking up at one of the ladies helping and was just smiling. I guess he had a good time.

Here are a few pictures of Saturday night:

Easton and Me before Church

My parents with Easton before the service.
Chris opted out of pictures...his allergies were killing him and he just wasn't in a picture taking mood since he couldn't stop sneezing.
Sunday we got up and went to my parents for our big annual egg hunt and lunch. It is one of my favorite family traditions. I know we probably look ridiculous, but we have so much fun! Of course we do this inside so we don't embarrass ourselves. This year was neat because we had my parent's new house to search in...which meant new places to hide. Yes, I am such a kid! Easton was a trooper and let us have one more adult Easter as I know next year we will be way more into watching him hunt for eggs. He napped during our hunt and was such a great boy and in such a good mood that day. Here are some pictures of the day.

Easton was checking out the pool. I can't wait to take him swimming this summer.

My brother, Nathan loves old cars. Here are some pictures in Nathan's Chevy Impala.

Don't ask me why...we just thought it was funny. I know it is random that my brother had a little sombrero in his car.

Easton got a lot of fun gifts for Easter. We gave him some books and toys. He also got 2 new outfits from Janie and Jack from my mom. And A. Amanda and U. Nathan got him a cute little bunny and a shirt. He also got a fun toy from his Great A. Melody and U. Bill. along with a little sleeper with a bunny tail on the little behind. His other grandparents J and Nae gave him some money.
Below are some pictures of him opening up his gift from Pip and Cha Cha.

It was a great Easter and it was extra special this year having Easton here to celebrate. I love that little boy so much!

Visiting Grandma

Here are some pictures from our visit with my grandma last week. Since she has Alzheimer's I try to get out there once a week and take advantage of the time I have left with her knowing who I am. She absolutely loves seeing Easton and I know it totally makes her day.

Easton's 4 month update

Easton had his 4 month checkup on March 1st. He did really well except for his shots. Poor little guy cried so hard. It broke my heart. That night you could tell he didn't feel very well. I gave him some Tylenol but he just wanted to be cuddled. I always love finding out how much he has grown. Here are his 4 month stats:

Weight - 15.5 lbs - 60%
Length - 26 1/4 inches - 90%
Head - 161/2 inches - 45%

So basically he is long and lean.

Easton is so much fun right now. He is rolling over like a champ. He can literally log roll. He LOVES his jumperoo and is so content just jumping around. His favorite toy (other than his jumperoo) is a work bench my mom has over at her house. You can hit the nails with a hammer or pull down a lever and it sings and lights up. Easton also loves taking baths now. He loves the sprayer on the kitchen sink. He tries to grab the water and try to put it in his mouth. Whenever he is fussy at night, I can give him a bath and it cheers him up. Easton is also really starting to love on the dogs. He likes to pet them and grab at their fur. He also enjoys watching them play. But if they start rough housing (where they playfully growl and bark at each other) he gets upset. I guess he thinks they are fighting.

Easton is also a great sleeper. He consistently sleeps through the night. He goes to bed around 8:30 or 9:00 and wakes up at 6:00 or 7:00. He will also take a few naps during the day. He loves sleeping on his belly now with his little bottom straight up in the air. I love watching him on the video monitor.

Easton is a very happy easy going little guy. I am sooo thankful for that. When our new computer comes in (it s expected at the end of the month) then I will update with pictures.

Puppy Love

Easton has recently discovered the dogs. Here are pictures of him petting Grace. It is so fun to see them interacting. I know Grace likes it too, she has been wanting him to play with her. Since the day we brought him home, she will lay her toy in his lap wanting him to throw it. Cracks me up!

Tummy Time

Easton absolutely hates tummy time and so I don't feel like I do it enough. But this is the typical sequence of events that happens....

starting out he is happy.....

But after a few minutes he starts screaming bloody murder....

I can only take so much screaming so I turn him back on his back....

Then he realizes he is back on his back....

And he is content again.

Does anyone have any experience with this? How often did you do tummy time?

Well on another note, here are some more updated pics of little E. He is changing so much every day.
