George Strait Concert

This past weekend Chris and I made a trip down to Houston to go see the George Strait concert with some good friends of ours. We both took off on Friday and got up early to drive down. We got there around lunch time and had a relaxing afternoon with Chris’s mom while we waited for Chris’s dad to get off work. That night we went to Babins (my favorite – I love their crab cakes). Then on Saturday we had a fun pool day before getting ready and heading out to the concert. We had a great time at the concert, although I can tell I am getting old. There were so many DRUNK people!!! I don’t know if it is my age or the fact that I am prego, but I just couldn’t handle it. My favorite drunk person was a lady that came up to me when I was waiting in line for the restroom that told me how she had 3 kids and it sucked being a mom and how sorry she was that I was pregnant….all I have to say is I am glad I am not her kid – what a HORRIBLE thing to say. Anyway, then there was the SCREECHING girls behind us…they yelled through the entire concert. By the end of the night I couldn’t even hear the music my ears were ringing. I seriously think they were having a contest on who could be the most annoying. And it wasn’t just me…it was the entire group that felt this way. I know that a concert is loud and I don’t mind the occasional scream at the appropriate time…but they literally “nail on a chalkboard” screamed the entire time!!! At one point I turned to Chris and said that I wish they would shut up. I guess I said it too loud (at this point I couldn’t even hear myself so I had no way of knowing) because they overheard and started talking sh*t to me trying to pick a fight. SERIOUSLY???? Chris got really ticked and wanted to say something, but we decided it was best to just let it go. It was quite funny now looking back on it. Other than that, the concert was a blast. It was fun seeing our friends and listening to the concert. Here are some pictures of our night.

On another note, I had my GD test done. It was the initial screen test so hopefully I will pass and won’t need to go back for the yucky 3 hour test. After my GD test I had my 29 week Dr. Appt. Everything looked good and Easton’s Heart Rate was 130. My doctor talked to me a little about cord banking…any thoughts on that out there? I guess Chris and I will need to sit down and talk about it – but any input would be greatly appreciated. I never know if it is something really important or if doctors just build it up.

I am really looking forward to this weekend…it is my shower!!! YEAH! I have a lot of dear friends hosting a shower for me and I am so excited to see all my guests. Chris’s parents are coming up tomorrow so I decided to take off tomorrow and Friday and make it a long weekend. I desperately need some me time right now. So tomorrow I will run some much needed errands, have lunch with one of my besties and relax. YEAH! I will update next week on my shower. Until then, I hope everyone is having a good week.

The 2 Pregos

Last Saturday night we went out with one of Chris’s childhood friends (Todd) and his wife (Emily). Chris has known Todd since they were little since they grew up in the same neighborhood in Houston. Emily and I have been chatting a lot lately because our due dates are only 1 day a part. It has been fun to share our experiences and compare symptoms. They are having a little girl, Haley. It was so funny going out all together. You would have thought we were part of a circus act or something the way everyone was staring at us. We heard whispers like…”ahhh, look…two mommies!” It was actually quite comical but I guess it was just funny since our guts were about the same size….Anyway; here are some pictures from the night:

Of course the guys had to get a pose with their guts too...

27 week appt - WOW that is a BIG baby!

Yesterday was my 27 week appt. Everything went great and we have a healthy little boy from what we know so far. He is head down sitting right on my bladder with his legs up in my ribs. I guess that explains why a restroom trip is in order practically every time I stand up. It is actually quite comical at times. Mr. Easton (yep his name is officially Easton ---middle name is still in the works) is 2.5 lbs right now and 15 inches long. They definitely made a comment on how big AND long he is. I am wondering if that means he is going to be tall…after all Chris is 6’ and his dad is 6’2 which is pretty tall to me. My doctor also made a comment on how she will want to monitor me closely at the end since he is so big. Makes me wonder if they will want to take him early...any moms out there with experience in the big baby department...let me know your thoughts. My next appt. is in 2 weeks and I have the fun GD test then too. I start going every 2 weeks now until 36 weeks. Time is really going by fast.

As for me, I am still feeling pretty good. The heart burn is definitely stepping it up, but it isn’t nearly as bad as the morning sickness. I just keep my big thing of tums next to my bed at night and usually once I fall asleep, it doesn’t bother me anymore.

Fortunately I am down to my last big project on my plate right now at work which is due next Friday. So I can actually breath a little easier right now knowing my work load is a little more manageable. Hopefully I can get back to blogging and not be so out of the loop.

We have some fun weekends planned coming up so hopefully I will get some pictures and have some more blogging material. I didn’t blog about last weekend, it wouldn’t have been very interesting….well unless you think that Chris helping my dad build a closet and picking out new bedding for our master bedroom is fun to read about. I on the other hand decided to spare you the details. Well I hope all is well with my friends out there. Miss you all that I haven’t seen in a while.

I will try to post a belly picture soon as I am definitely getting a big gut.

Busy Busy Busy

Sorry I haven't updated in a while...things have just been so busy lately. Last week I was at a sales meeting and when I got back I had a ton of work that came in that is all due in the next few weeks.

I will try to do a catch up post soon. I will definitely (at the latest) post next week after our appt. on the 29th. We get to do another ultrasound and then that night we have our childbirth class. I should have some updates then.

This pregnancy is really starting to fly by! I am almost to the 3rd trimester...I can't believe it!

Well... I hope everyone is doing well.

(from bottom left around the table: Tara, Jules, Jaime, Erin W, Jennie, Shannon, Avery, Erin B, Me and Mel)

Tuesday night I had a fun girls night with my besties from Baylor. Jennie was in town with sweet Avery who I had never had the chance to meet before. Shannon surprised everyone by coming up from Austin to see everyone. It was such a fun night catching up and reminiscing. I wish we could all do this more often. Love you girls!

23 Week update

Just wanted to give a quick update. I had my 23 week appointment yesterday. Everything looked good. It was my biggest weight gain so far in between appointments. Usually I had just gained either 1 or 2 lbs…this time I gained 6 pounds. I have to say though, I have seen a significant change in the belly bump over the past week or so. I have gone from looking like I just ate a big meal to really pregnant. Even today when I went to pick up some lunch, the lady asked me…what are you having. I almost said I just told you…I just placed my order…but then I realized and responded…oh, I am having a boy. I guess I will have to get use to this. It is nice having people comment on you being pregnant. It is reassuring that you are finally out of that awkward phase and actually look like you have a belly for a reason.

The rest of the appointment was pretty quick…all the measurement/urine/etc fun stuff. When they went to listen to his heart we and got our laughs. The doctor had the hardest time hearing the heart because every time she put the doppler to my belly he would kick it. It was like he was trying to tell us to get that thing out of here! You could literally see my belly jump. We had lots of laughs but she was finally able to get the heart rate which was around 150. I think this little guy is going to know what he wants in life!

My next appointment in 4 weeks I will get another Ultrasound and I think about a week after that I have to go in and do the gestational diabetes test. Then I will start going in every 2 weeks. I can’t believe how fast all of this is going. The first trimester went so slow when I felt so bad, but now that I feel good it is just flying by. And we have been so busy. This past weekend we helped my parents start moving. Tonight they will be officially in their new house full time. Then this weekend we have some good friends coming in town to stay with us for the 4th of July.

Well I hope everyone has a great long holiday weekend with lots of fireworks! Happy 4th!

Busy week at the Field's house!!!

Well it has been a very busy week at our house. The week started out celebrating Chris's birthday with my family. We all went to Carabas(one of our favorites) for dinner. I LOVE their house salad with the yummy creamy Parmesan dressing AND all their cheese is pasteurized which makes it nice for the pregos out there.

Chris and Me at Dinner

The whole Family

Last Friday one of my best friends from high school was in town with her husband who Chris gets along with really well. So we always have fun hanging out with them. We went to Benihanas for some Hibachi! YMMMM. We had a great time and had LOTS of laughs. We ended up closing the place down. I think the valet was a ready for us to get out of there so they could go home because the car was just waiting on us. HA! I don't get to see Amber very much though so I had to take full advantage! Amber, if you are reading this, thanks for the fun night out and can't wait to do it again soon. Still praying for you two to move back to BIG D!

For Fathers Day we always have a tradition of Pinatas and Horse Races. I know it is kind of a random tradition and not really sure how it all started. But it is a tradition none the less and we always have a great time!

Here is my dad getting ready to hit his pinata that was a $100 bill. I found it appropriate since he is a finance guy.

Chris picked out his own pinata...he picked a guitar. I have no idea why as I don't think he has ever played a guitar in his life, but he like it.

It didn't take him long to knock it down. He even did it left handed. That is my little baseball player for you!

Next, we went on to the Horse Races. Can we say HOT!! Being Prego makes the heat so much more miserable. I still had fun, but definitely did a lot more sitting in the shade and drank TONS of water. We laughed a lot at my mom, she kept winning but the payoff would only be like 20 cents. She kept betting on the horses with the low odds. We had a lot of laughs.

Chris and I towards the end...we were DONE!

Last weekend I also got to meet my good friend Tara's little boy, Lincoln(look at all the hair!). I am sure there will be many playdates with our boys in the near future! Can't wait. Lincoln was such a sweetheart. He just slept on me and it was such a good feeling. Definitely got my baby fix in! Thanks Tara for posting the pic so I could steal it off your blog. :)
On the baby front...a quick update. I am 22 weeks this week. Things are going great. Feeling good and at that perfect stage of being past the morning sickness phase and not quite big enough to be uncomfortable. I finally LOOK pregnant for the random people that don't know me. Last week I had the first stranger make a comment about me being prego. It was a great feeling to know that people can tell I am prego and not just some chick with a beer gut. This little guy is very active. KICKS ALOT. He even wakes me up in the middle of the night. Chris got to feel his first kick a few weeks ago and my mom felt him on Fathers Day. Baby Fields Definitely likes to punch and kick. I think Chris is hoping that is a good sign. He keeps saying that it is his pitching arm. Ha! Well I have my next Dr. appt on Monday...it should be a short one. Not sure if I will have any updates.
This weekend we will be helping my parents move into their new house. Finally after 2 years of looking, they finally bought a house. I am excited to use their pool and their media room. YEAH.

Oh and Chris and I also went last weekend and ordered all our baby furniture and bedding! Yeah for making some progress. I will post about that later and include some pictures.
I hope everyone is having a great week!
